Fantasy Island Book Publishing has two wonderful charity projects during the Christmas Season.

The first is the book, 'Christmas O'Clock', a collection of two novels and two shortstories for the the wonderful price of .99. This entertaining collection is perfect to read to your children over the christmas holidays. In addition to four heartwarming and funny stories, there is the added bonus of all proceeds being donated to the charity 'Oxfam', an international relief and development organization that creates lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and injustice.

Together with individuals and local groups in more than 90 countries, Oxfam saves lives, helps people overcome poverty, and fights for social justice.

Oxfam envisions a just world without poverty. Their mission is to create lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and social injustice.

-------------

The second charity project that Fantasy Island Book Publishing is proudly promoting is 'The Story Tellers' Anthology', a collection of 20 shortstories by 14 authors. The collection is wide-ranging, and showcases something from all the different genres that Fantasy Island Book Publishing offers, from Fantasy and Science fiction to Romance, Paranormal, Steampunk and General Fiction. This book is available for only .99 and all proceeds go to benefit Samaritan's Purse and their 'Turn on the Tap' project, providing clean drinking water to the world.

For 884 million people, having no access to a safe water supply is a daily reality. Every year 1.4 million children die from diarrhoeal diseases – diseases transmitted through contaminated water and poor hygiene practices. Every day more than 3,800 children die from a diarrhoeal disease; that means one child dies every 20 seconds.

Unsafe water sources that people are forced to use every day are killing thousands.

Samaritan's Purse is attacking this travesty by installing BioSand Water Filter in homes throughout the developing world. These simple household water filters effectively remove up to 99 per cent of all water-borne pathogens, along with particulate matter. The result is water that is safe to drink, cook and clean with.

These fine anthologies are brought to you by the Authors and Publishers of Fantasy Island Book Publishing, as a way of giving something back to the world.

Libya/ Gaddafi/ True Blood/ Twilight/ Breaking Dawn/ Hurricane Irene/ Virginia Earthquake/ Marilyn Rucker Norrod / Alison DeLuca/ Elaine Gannon/ Anabe

True Blood seems to be causing all sorts of controversy with Season 4. Not only did HBO let Alan Ball turn the infamous shower scene from book 4, Dead To The World by author Charlaine Harris, into a scene from Narnia, but he seems intent on turning Sookie Stackhouse into a less than savoury character. Last week we saw in episode 8, "Spellbound," Sookie's shower turn into a snow covered field complete with a double bed for her and Eric Northman to get busy in. This was a result of a V induced hallucination. Not happy Alan Ball! Now in episode 9, "Let's Get Out Of Here," we find that Sookie has ingested MORE vampire blood! This time Alan Ball found it important to show a threesome between Sookie, Eric and Bill Compton, who is an ex-boyfriend. Fans are getting more than a little bit concerned about what is being inferred about her character. I wonder what episode 10 will bring?

FIBP releases its first print book: the fantastic Black Numbers by Dean Frank Lappi. If you like horror and fantasy, you’ll love this book about magic that comes from sexuality and manipulating numbers.

With only 86 days to go until the premiere of Breaking Dawn, Part 1, Twihards are starting to get a little frenzied! Not only is Breaking Dawn an international success for Stephenie Meyers, it is a boon for the franchise industry. Already you can add a countdown widget to your computer as well as calenders, Comic Con cards and the offical T Shirt. The movie comes to theaters 18th November 2011 (or 11.18.11 as the merchandise claims), so make sure you get your seats booked early!

Hurricane Irene intensified this morning in the Bahamas, reaching major category 3 status, with peak sustained winds of 115 mph. Hurricane warnings continue for all of the Bahamas where 6-12 inches of rain are expected in addition to hurricane force winds..
0
Irene is headed northwest at 12 mph towards the East Coast, but the latest guidance has continued to trend eastward, more offshore.
Irrespective of whether the storm makes a direct hit at particular coastal locations from North Carolina to New England, it may still bring torrential rain, coastal flooding and damaging winds.

The storm might reach category 4 levels with peak winds near 135 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.

As hurricane Irene nears the east cost, the Red Cross is encouraging Americans to make blood donations ahead of time. In these financially strained times, people sometimes are not able to give monetarily to charitable organizations such as the Red Cross. The Red Cross is asking for blood donations ahead of the storm, to build up a store that may be needed after the hurricane hits. Visit www.redcrossblood.org for more information.

Gaddafi’s seat of power in Tripoli seems to have fallen after rebel fighters swarmed into his compound.

The Libyan leader and his family, however, had already disappeared. If they spent the last days of their rule inside their walled citadel, Bab al-Aziziya, they had since escaped, possibly through the labyrinth of tunnels that lie beneath the compound.

With Gaddafi's fate unknown, nobody could say for certain whether the bloodshed was over for good. In the streets beyond the compound, gunfire continued to ring out, although it was unclear whether it was a result of continued skirmishes or celebrations. There were also reports of sporadic looting as darkness fell.

Government strongholds remained in the coastal town of Sirte, Gaddafi's birthplace, and the southern desert city of Sabha, and there was no word last night on whether his supporters would carry on fighting. But the fall of Gaddafi's fortress-like city within a city, and the trampling of his likeness under the feet of Libya's new rulers, represented a symbolic moment of victory after a six-month civil war.

After the civil war which has raged in Libya for the last 6 months, the country will literally have to construct itself from the ground up once the fighting is over. A transitional council has been set up to assist with that transition.

The News of the World hacking scandals are still at the top of the headline, grabbing my attention. What they did was inexcusable, from hacking a phone of a murdered girl giving the impression to family members that she was still alive to potentially listening to the phones of 9/11 victims. It was truly atrocious.

So it was with glee that I woke this morning to find that a Murdoch owned newspaper had been hacked in turn. Last night LulzSec took control of the Sun’s servers and redirected people to a spoof article detailing Murdoch’s death. There was an intrepid pitch battle between IT staff and intrepid hackers with LulzSec briefly winning a battle to redirect people to its Twitter account before the forces of Murdoch prevailed and they were locked out. Cool huh?

Another Social Network?

Combining the last two articles beautifully, a hacker group have announced that they will be creating their own social network. I’m not trying to be funny but would you trust your personal details to a hacker group, however ethical their hacks appear to be? I don’t really trust Google, I’m going to have a hard time trusting a hackers social network!

At the end of each rambling I like to mention a few of my favourite up-and-coming authors from my publishers Fantasy Island Book Publishers.

Pakistanis, Pippa Middleton, Tornadoes

President Obama was willing to risk a military confrontation with a close ally in order to capture or kill Bin Laden.
This would have set off an even larger breach with the Pakistanis than has taken place since officials in Islamabad learned that helicopters filled with members of a Navy Seals team had flown undetected into one of their cities, and burst into a compound where Bin Laden was hiding.
One senior Obama administration official said: “Their instructions were to avoid any confrontation if at all possible. But if they had to return fire to get out, they were authorized to do it.”
The planning also illustrates how little the administration trusted the Pakistanis as they set up their operation. They also rejected a proposal to bring the Pakistanis in on the mission.

Apparently the lovely Pippa Middleton is attracting as much attention for what she DIDN’T wear as for what she did wear. A picture has surfaced of the lovely new sister-in-law stripped down to bra and skirt having fun with an unnamed young man! This has earned her the nickname of “Pippa NoStockings…” We just think she’s a lovely girl, and bless her for having a good time.

Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom will travel from Louisville to Maryland on Tuesday morning as he and his connections prepare for the 136th Preakness Stakes. The middle jewel in racing's Triple Crown will go off at Pimlico Racecourse on Saturday, May 21.

"Two days later, it is still surreal," said Graham Motion, who is based at Fair Hill Training Center in Elkton, MD. "I had thought about it (winning the Kentucky Derby). There is not a trainer that doesn't think about it. I just didn't think it would happen at this stage of my career."

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began opening the Bonnet Carré Spillway in Louisiana Monday to ease pressure on the levee system protecting New Orleans, continuing the battle against a Mississippi River flood that could crest at Memphis later in the day.

Memphis residents are preparing for potential flooding from Mississippi River, which expected to crest along Tennessee city near record levels Tuesday. Cameron McWhirter has the latest from Memphis.

The dimension is populated by fantastic and dangerous creatures and also an advanced society of humans. That society, while very different from those on earth, is oddly similar, in some ways, to the society in which Jeff grew up.
As Jeff looks for clues regarding what may have happened to his father, he is accused by some of being a spy while thought by others to be a prophesized figure . . . who may be the key to victory in a developing war.

Op-ed by J Darroll Hall #1 bestselling author of Double Down Bounce: How to make huge profits in a volatile stock market!
US DEBT

Just when the market has made a substantial come back from the abyss for normal Americans and business worldwide, this Frankenstein creation seems to care not for the damage that will be caused worldwide. Employment in the US has rebounded and business outlook improved significantly over the past two years and will reverse past historic lows of 2007 if the Tea Party continues down this dangerous path. The two unfunded wars, a trillion dollar pay off to drug makers, and another trillion dollar tax rebate to billionaires will pail in comparison to the coming economic implosion if the radical right does not change course.
This tactic to slow the economic recovery for political gain has all the earmark of dirty political trick to win at all cost. The overall American public is beginning to wake up and has shown severe disdain for the GOP and the Tea Parties radical methods of economic extortion in recent polls. The investor class has seen tax rate reductions unheard of in times since the horse and buggy roamed Wall Street. Now GOP governors are fully on the band wagon, bowing to their master who paid their way into office with huge paybacks. Some are not only lowering taxes but eliminating them altogether at the expense of its ordinary citizens and taxpayers.
The American middle class has been stretched like a rubber band and may snap out of existence in this decade. Thirty years of failed Reaganism looks to go into overdrive and sweep away any security an entire century of generations has fought and died for. The poor, seniors and middle center are already pushed down to poverty levels never before imagined. The upper one third still clinging on by chipped nails will be the next to fall pray. In one more decade of decline the top 2% will overwhelm all other sectors of our economy if this trend continues unabated. Further extension of the tax cuts to the rich will shift 5 trillion in debt to Middle America while shifting that same amount of wealth to the super-rich by the end of this decade. The GOP and Paul Ryan’s game plan; raid Social security and Medicare funds to pay down the debt while shifting more wealth in tax cuts upward to their benefactors.
The current GOP tactic to limit voter rights and disenfranchise every ethnic group, labor coalition and other venerable segment of the populace may become the straw to break the countries back. An estimated ten million legitimate voters have already had their rights to do so vanquish. In many states obstacles are going up for seniors (37 million), minorities (99 million) and the poor (52.5 million) to limit voter turn out in future elections. One state has taken over an entire city and pledged the best asset the city owns to the highest political donor. The rights and representation afforded in the Constitution by election completely overturned by a stroke of the Governors pen.
This current situation had become a race for a winner take all type of nation and governmental body. If the top 2% prevail in controlling energy, food, resources and our ability to vote, the future hold little promise for generations of ordinary Americans to come. The advantage the super-rich have is American ego’s, no one want to associate themselves with these groups, although 98% percent of us live and work their. We have been conditioned to delude ourselves into winning the great American lottery of life, and striking it rich ourselves. You do have better chances of winning the real lottery before that happens.

Pame and Allie to add fluffiness part.

The Royal Wedding

Roughly two billion people around the globe will be tuning in to watch the wedding of Prince William and Miss Kate Middleton. As part of the preparation, the choirboys singing at the wedding have it to give up chocolate – it ruins their voices, apparently. They’ve been promised an entire backpack of chocolate after the ceremony, however.
The Household Cavalry have to take care of every detail of the uniforms. Their boots will be waxed with beeswax, spit and polish in layers to create a mirror-like gloss.

Scotland Yard is already making preparations against proposed protests, such as one by MAC (Muslims Against Crusaders.) According to the Yard, however, the number of protestors is expected to be very small.
Apparently Kate’s cake will feature flowers. The creator, Fiona Cairns, is creating a multi layered fruitcake, the traditional wedding cake in Britain. Apparently her creation will feature English roses, Scottish thistles, Welsh daffodils and Irish shamrocks, of course.

Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski will be broadcasting from the UK during the week of the wedding. Their broadcast will begin at 3 am on the day of the wedding.

The wedding will be streamed live on CNN and YouTube.

On American Idol Wednesday night, the top 11 from last week performed. Two performers will be eliminated Thursday. Idol showcased the music of Elton John.
The surprise triumph of the night was Haley, whose performances have generally been among the most criticized by this season’s very indulgent judges. She began with “Benny and the Jets” perched atop a piano – an odd strategy – and sang it at a slowed, almost bluesy beat. The judges were thrilled. Randy Jackson called it the “Best performance of the night.” Steven said, “You sing sexy!”

Elizabeth Taylor died Wednesday at age 79 of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Taylor won three Academy Awards, including a special one for her humanitarian work. She was the most loyal of friends and a defender of gays in Hollywood when AIDS was still a stigma in the industry and beyond. But she was afflicted by ill health, failed romances (eight marriages, seven husbands) and personal tragedy. “I think I’m becoming fatalistic,” she said in 1989. “Too much has happened in my life for me not to be fatalistic.”

Bill O’Reilly dismissed Donald Trump’s assertions about Barack Obama’s citizenship during an interview on Wednesday’s “O’Reilly Factor”. Trump has been causing outrage in many corners—from “The View” to CNN to MSNBC. O’Reilly said his show had looked into the claims about Obama’s birth certificate. Once they found the two Honolulu newspapers which announced his birth, he said he “put [the issue] to bed,” since “that is impossible to make happen” if Obama was not born in a Honolulu hospital. Trump then repeated the speculation that something on the birth certificate must be so radioactive that Obama is covering it up. “Maybe it says he’s a Muslim, I don’t know,” Trump said. “…If he wasn’t born in this country, it’s one of the great scams of this time.” O’Reilly finally said he didn’t believe that Trump was serious in his skepticism. “It’s provocative. I think it gets a lot of attention, but I don’t think you believe it,” he said.

The CIA has sent a small, covert team into rebel-held eastern Libya while the White House debates whether to arm the opposition. The operatives are in Libya to gather intelligence to help direct NATO airstrikes and to help train inexperienced rebel fighters. The move was authorized after President Obama signed what’s called a “finding,” a legal step necessary before the CIA can carry out secret operations.

Japanese engineers are struggling to gain control of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Four of the reactors are volatile and once under control will be scrapped. Workers are struggling to restart the cooling pumps in the reactors damaged by the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami. They have drenched the fuel rods with seawater to cool the reactors. The plants have also been flooded by seawater when the tsunami hit. The challenge is to pump out radioactive seawater flooding the basements in reactors No.1, No.2 and No.3. The water is preventing work to restore electricity to the cooling pumps so that they can operate continuously. The dilemma is that while it is necessary to pump the water into the reactors to cool them, this increases the amount of radioactive waste water at the plant. There is a danger that the operator will run out of places to store it safely. Radiation may now be flowing continuously from the plant into the sea. Contamination is now 4,000 times the legal limit in the sea near the plant’s drains.

For the last couple of weeks, there hasn’t been a great deal to report in the possible NFL lockdown / strike. The lack of news has allowed the league and it’s information disseminating agencies to spin the message and obfuscate the facts. And with repetition, it seems to be working. The NFL issues statements directly to their own media outlets, and everyone else is content to report on what’s been reported, rather than pursue information on their own. Maybe what is needed are replacement owners. We have everything else in place but empty stadiums; financed for the most part by we the people, fans, and players. On April 6, a judge will rule on an injunction to lift the lockout. If the lockout is lifted, it will signal a major victory for players, and for fans as well. While the league will almost certainly appeal, this ruling is our best hope at having a 2011 NFL season.
